Alberta B Johnson

Alberta Boone Johnson, 88, of Gates County, North Carolina, peacefully entered eternal rest at her home surrounded by family on February 22, 2026.

Born on September 26, 1937, in Gates County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Parker Holland Boone and the late Oleywise Baker Boone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Henry Louis Johnson, and stepchildren Ella Jean White and Robert Henry Johnson Sr.

Alberta was known for her loving and caring spirit. She was a dedicated Nursing Assistant in New York, where she faithfully served and cared for others. After returning to North Carolina, she continued her life of service by assisting the local nurse midwife and helping families in her community. 

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: Arnette Hunter (Ricky), Janet Dildy (Leslie), Winifred Diggs (Herbert), Parker Boone, Darrius Boone (Idella), Clayton Boone, Joann Boone, and Latorn Holloman (Gary); stepchildren Lillie Inez Mann, Shirley Ann Saunders, Calvin Lee Johnson Sr. (Carolyn), Naasirah Muhammad, Fredia Theresa Judge (Hughie), and Gregory Jerome Johnson (Gloria); along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Her love, strength, and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home for a time of viewing, reflection, and fellowship.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 3:00pm at Upper Room Assembly Church.

Ms. Johnson will be laid to rest at the Boone Family Cemetery in Gates, North Carolina.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, kindness, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.  Her life was truly a beautiful example of faith, family, and selfless love.
